The twin of the new Rombo brand commercial has once again been seen, although this time it does so in the more spring-like weather of Germany. The new Mercedes Citan reappears after almost two months gone when we first saw it near the end of past winter tests.

And, despite moving into much warmer weather almost into summer, the prototypes of the star’s smaller commercial don’t lose camouflage. The radiator grille slats are barely visible, somewhat more trapezoidal as in the new Sprinter although on a smaller scale, and the new design of the headlights, which can be seen in the wedge shape that passenger cars are adopting. brand.

The spy photos show two units that have been hunted in the vicinity of Bosch: the one with the roof bars is the passenger variant of the new Citan Tourer and the other with the Citan Van, the pure and simple commercial that offers the paneled sides. In common, both have sliding side doors for easier access in certainly narrow places.

At the rear, you can barely make out the pilots mounted on the pillars of the hatchback at mid-height, a style that will not be much different from those of the also future Renault Kangoo. As is customary in these commercials, also converted into multipurpose thanks to mixed versions, Mercedes will offer different length configurations, in addition to a double rear door with two asymmetric leaves.

The new Citan will be presented at the end of the year, although sales will be delayed to 2021, reaching the market with the 1.5-liter blue dCi diesel engine with 95 and 115 hp, and also the 1.3-liter TCe gasoline engine with 100, 130, and 155 hp. The offer also includes an electric version, which will inherit the technology implemented in the new generation of the Kangoo Z.E.
