Now the Ford Focus debuts its long-awaited light hybridization mechanics with three objectives: to improve its efficiency, performance and obtain the ECO label from the DGT. But all the news does not end here.
The 2021 Ford Focus is going to make a real splash in the compact segment. And is that after the arrival of the latest generations of the Audi A3, Seat Leon, and Volkswagen Golf, the category is more interesting than ever. Also, the restyling of the Hyundai i30 and Renault Mégane will soon make an appearance, to which the highly anticipated Citroën C4 2021 will be added.
The most remarkable thing about the Ford Focus 2021 is in its mechanical range. Now consumers will have at their disposal the new 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid gasoline engines with two power levels, as we have told you in the Ford Fiesta 2021 range or the Ford Puma. Thanks to the presence of a soft hybridization system, they increase performance, improve consumption, and allow the long-awaited DGT ECO label to be obtained.
Ford Focus 2021 Engine
The Ford Focus 2021 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid 125 hp will be one of the stars of the range for its balance. With this block, the maximum torque increases to 210 Nm –at 2,000 r.p.m-, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 10.1 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 200 km / h. There is also an improvement in consumption: the manufacturer declares an average consumption of between 4.2 and 4.4 liters / 100 km.
On the other hand, there is another variant of this 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid, also associated with a six-speed manual gearbox, although with increased power to 155 hp and a maximum torque of 235 Nm. In this case, it reaches 100 km / h from standstill in 9.2 seconds, reaches 211 km / h, and surprises with its average consumption: between 4.1 and 4.6 liters / 100 km. It should be noted that these engines incorporate a particle filter, the Stop & Start system, and cylinder disconnection technology.
The 2021 Ford Focus can be chosen in various finishes, such as the ST-Line and ST-Line X sports cars or the Active crossover versions and the luxurious Active X, the latter rivals to the Kia XCeed. As in the Ford Puma and Ford Kuga, the Ford Focus 2021 increases its level of equipment and may include a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
Shortly, the new Ford Focus 2021 range will be present in the Spanish market with the five-door and Sportbreak family bodies. Meanwhile, we know that it is already offered in Germany with a price of 22,850 euros with the 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid 125 hp engine, which represents an additional outlay of only 350 euros compared to the same engine without hybridization. For its part, the variant 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid of 155 hp adds 1,500 euros of the extra cost compared to the light hybrid version of 125 hp at the same finish.
