We have new pictures and details of the Hummer EV. General Motors is very excited about the electric vehicle offering it is creating. To date, the public details of this project are somewhat limited but, based on the progress it publishes, we can say that they will set a precedent. The proof is that they will soon put the GMC Hummer EV SUV on the market, a model with which they have dared to resurrect the legendary off-road firm from its ashes.
So far, General Motors has limited itself to indicate that the official debut of the GMC Hummer EV SUV will take place in the fall. With this strategic move, they are prevented in case circumstances change and they have to postpone the presentation event. However, they cannot control everything and to prove this filtered image. In it, we can see new, and puzzling, design details of the reborn “Humvee.”
The GMC Hummer EV SUV will be available in two versions
If you do a little memory, the last trailer General Motors published for the Humvee was a month ago. The chosen format was a video and in it, we could see that this model will be available in two versions. One with an SUV design and another, unexpected, with a pickup line. Also, you could see the design of their wheels, with solid and powerful lines. Well, the guys at GM Authority bring to light an image that contradicts that advance.
In it, we can see the platform that will give life to the GMC Hummer EV SUV and the Ultrium lithium-ion battery. Also, the two electric motors that will configure its mechanical offer appear. However, we must look at the design and size of the alloy wheel. Although the style is completely different, we cannot ignore that the size is smaller. In this way, it gives a greater role to the tire.
Given this dissonance, we should take this snapshot with a grain of salt. However, the guys at GM Authority are well informed of everything that happens in this manufacturer, so we will give them a vote of confidence. We will have to wait for the launch to know if this rim ends up in the standard or optional equipment. Meanwhile, General Motors continues to develop the Detroit-Hamtramck technical center in Michigan.
