The new Peugeot 3008 has been hunted for the first time. With only a few days to go before the long-awaited facelift of Peugeot’s compact SUV takes place, a prototype has been photographed in broad daylight confirming the design changes it will undergo.
In the absence of very few days for the new Peugeot 3008 to be presented in society, some very interesting spy photos have appeared on the network. Some snapshots of a prototype taken in broad daylight. This first generation of Peugeot’s compact SUV will undergo a facelift. A “facelift” that will allow you to face the rest of your business life ahead.
It was the first time that a prototype of the new 3008 was photographed during its development phase. Peugeot has come very close to completing the entire project without a test vehicle being sighted. As we can see in these spy photos that accompany the article, the photographed unit presents a remarkable amount of camouflage. A camouflage is concentrated on the front and rear.
It is logical that the camouflage is in the front and rear of the vehicle, since it will be in these places where the aesthetic changes will be concentrated. Despite the camouflage, if we take as a reference this leak that occurred relatively recently thanks to the information extracted from the NAC infotainment system, we can confirm all the design changes that will be on the outside.
The new 3008 will adapt to the design line that Peugeot is applying to its new models. On the front, in addition to a new grille and a modified bumper, the great novelty will include new headlights and LED lights for daytime running whose shape simulates fangs. And at the rear, the light groups will be updated and the bumper slightly revised.
These spy photos do not allow us to look inside, but we can anticipate that there will be very relevant changes. One of the most striking elements will be the new touch screen that will crown the center console and that will allow to operate the new infotainment system. The instrument panel, digital in the most complete versions, will also be updated.
The range of engines for the Peugeot 3008 2021 will maintain a composition very similar to the current one. It will be possible to choose between gasoline and diesel engines. There will also be different plug-in hybrid versions. Depending on the chosen engine we will find a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. It will also be possible to choose in some cases between front and / or total wheel drive.
In the mechanical section, the great novelty will be the entry on the scene of the new Peugeot 3008 PSE, a high-performance plug-in hybrid version that will hit the market to rival, among others, the CUPRA Ateca or Volkswagen Tiguan R.
When will it hit the market? The presentation of the new Peugeot 3008 is scheduled for next September 1. The order book will open before the end of this year and the first units are expected to arrive at dealerships in 2021.
