Peugeot 3008 2021: First Look & Photos

The Peugeot 3008 has become one of the star models of the lion brand. That is why to stay on the crest of the wave and in the face of increasingly fierce competition, the French firm is already working on an ambitious renovation of the brand’s mid-size SUV that will arrive in two stages, starting with a restyling that will land at the end of this 2020, but also thinking about a new generation that will foreseeably arrive in 2023.

The French publication Cardisiac has left some details about these changes in the short and medium term of the SUV, which will end up leading to a major makeover of the brand, which will even include a new logo that recovers the emblem used by the brand in the 1960s. and that we have already seen in the recent concept e-Legend. This information is now complemented by leaked images from forum-peugeot of what appears to be the updated 3008 with its final body.

Update in late 2020

Although the first thing that will arrive is already around the corner and it is a facelift that although it will bring some other notable change at an aesthetic level, as these images that we offer you advance, the main modifications will come at the level of equipment, especially Technologically, with the presence of a 3D digital cockpit instrument cluster like the one released in the new Peugeot 208, a larger screen with 10 inches and a more advanced interface for the infotainment system, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function or night vision. Elements that will come as standard or optionally depending on the chosen finish.

A series of innovations in the interior will be added to a reinforced range of gasoline and diesel engines, plus two plug-in hybrid engines. All of them with the necessary modifications to further reduce CO2 emissions and thus comply with anti-pollution regulations. All these changes will be ready in a new Peugeot 3008 2021 that is expected to arrive later this year.

But as we say this is only an evolution of the current generation and it will be in 2023 when a new generation arrives about which there are also details. It will be in this phase in which we will see important novelties in the image of the compact SUV of Peugeot, and although it may not reach the height of the jump that occurred in 2016 and embodied the current generation, we could expect, according to Cardisiac, a model with a somewhat less aggressive design but that could follow the line of the recent 208 and 2008.

In any case, the guideline will be given by a new Peugeot 308 whose arrival on the market is scheduled a couple of years earlier, in 2021, and which will debut the new image of Peugeot with a more retro lion on the grill.

With this 3008 it will come a much more ambitious leap in technology and interior design with greater ergonomics and interior space, an even more advanced version of the i-Cockpit that will give way to a greater role for voice and gesture controls and a driving position with fewer physical buttons, to which will be added a level 3 autonomous driving system.

As for its mechanics we will find a range of fully electrified engines with mild hybrid versions, two plug-in hybrids and possibly a 100% electric version that will go beyond the current Peugeot 208 and 2008 in terms of performance.
