The restyling of the Renault Mégane is now available in the Spanish market, so we provide you with all the details and rates for each of its finishes. The most remarkable? The incorporation of a plug-in hybrid version … and the significant discounts applied to the entire range.
At Renault, they are not going to sit idly by the new Citroën C4 and the avalanche of compacts from the VAG group – Audi A3, Seat León, and Volkswagen Golf-; Nor do they forget other popular rivals such as the Ford Focus, Opel Astra or Peugeot 308. For this reason, the brand with the rhombus updates its successful Mégane with a slightly renewed image, greater technological content, and an even more competitive mechanical range.
Renault Mégane 2021 Engine Range
Spanish buyers can choose the 2021 Renault Mégane with five alternatives under the hood. In gasoline, the entry step is the 1.3 TCe with four cylinders with 115 CV -220 Nm of maximum torque- and manual transmission of six relations. Their figures? It accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 11 seconds, reaches 190 km / h and consumes 5.3 liters / 100 km. As an important aspect, you should know that this variant will be replaced shortly by the three-cylinder 1.0 TCe 120.
Above, we have a balanced 1.3 TCe of 140 hp and 240 Nm of maximum torque. With the six-speed manual gearbox, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.7 seconds, reaches 205 km / h, and maintains the same consumption as the TCe 115. It can also be paired with the EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission with seven relations; in this case, the acceleration improves to 9.3 seconds and the expense increases only one-tenth to 5.4 liters / 100 km.
At the top of the range, without counting the sports R.S., it also offers the 1.3 TCe developed with Mercedes-Benz, although with 160 hp and a seven-speed EDC gearbox. Here the torque increases to 270 Nm, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.6 seconds, and reaches 205 km / h. The average consumption of this block with a distribution chain does not vary concerning the TCe 140 EDC.
Regarding the diesel range, the Renault Mégane 2021 loses the 1.7 dCi option of 150 hp, although it maintains the 1.5 dCi of 115 hp and 260 Nm of torque, with belt distribution and the six-speed manual transmission or the automatic EDC7. With the first, it reaches 100 km / h from a standstill in 11.4 seconds, reaches 190 km / h, and consumes only 3.8 liters / 100 km.
But the biggest novelty is in the 160 hp 1.6 E-TECH plug-in hybrid version with a highly sophisticated multimode gearbox and 50 km of electric range. With the Sports Tourer bodywork, it declares an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.8 seconds, 183 km / h top speed, and an average consumption of 1.3 liters / 100 km. Other interesting aspects are the chain distribution, the presence of a multi-link rear suspension, and the DGT label 0.
For the rest, the Spanish range of the Renault Mégane 2021 is divided into various finishes: Life, Intent, Zen, and R.S. Line. The first includes six airbags, ESP with Hill Holder, air conditioning, ISOFIX anchors, Bluetooth, LED headlights, digital radio with USB port, speed regulator/limiter, electric mirrors, tire pressure sensor, and multifunction steering wheel.
The Intent finish adds two-zone climate control, rear parking control, digital instrument panel, automatic headlights and wipers, 7 “touch screen, and hands-free card.
Zen level adds lane departure warning, tinted windows, fatigue detector, photosensitive interior mirror, LED fog lights, electric parking brake, traffic sign reader, 16 “alloy wheels, automatic high beams, navigator, mirrors electrically folding, driving mode selector, front parking sensor and Nappa leather steering wheel.
Lastly, the R.S. Line is distinguished by sports seats, a rearview camera, 10.2 “digital instrument cluster, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, 17” wheels, 9.3 “display, specific bumpers, distance warning system, and an exclusive steering wheel.
